Sarasota · 5 years pouring

Concrete goes in gray. It comes out yours.

Metallic pours, flake garage floors and polished concrete across Florida’s Gulf Coast. Every floor is mixed, poured and finished by the person who answers your call.

Send us the space

Send the room and rough size. You get a real number back, not a callback loop.

A photo of the slab helps if you have one. You get a straight answer, and no follow-up sales calls.

The work

A floor is not a product. It is a pour.

Prime Resin started because our owner got tired of watching other crews rush the part nobody photographs. He had spent years around resin, learned the craft through JP Resin, took contract work for Don Resin, and kept running into the same shortcut: grind it light, coat it fast, move on.

That shortcut is why epoxy gets a bad name. A coating is only as good as its bond, and bond is bought with diamond grinding, patched cracks and a moisture read before a single kit is opened. We do that on a two-car garage the same way we do it on a warehouse.

“Unleashing creativity with every pour.” It is on the truck because it is the actual job. Metallic work is closer to painting than to construction.

The other half is cleanliness. We mask what we are not coating, we keep the site tidy while we work, and we leave your garage cleaner than we found it. It sounds small. Ask anyone who has had a contractor track resin across their driveway.

  • Diamond grinding on every job, not a chemical etch
  • Cracks and pinholes filled before the first coat
  • Clear cure windows so you know when to walk and when to park
  • One installer from quote to final coat

How a Prime Resin floor gets built

How a floor actually gets built

Six steps, in this order, every time. Skipping any of them is how a floor peels in year two.

We look at the slab

Moisture, cracks, oil, old coating. What is under there decides the system, so we read it before quoting.

You pick the finish

Eighteen flake blends and custom metallic mixes. We bring samples and show you the same blend in daylight and under your garage lights.

We grind it open

Diamond grinding to a profile the resin can key into. Dust goes into the vacuum, not your house.

We repair and prime

Cracks, pinholes and spalls filled. Primer goes down so the build coat has something honest to hold.

We pour

Metallic gets worked by hand. Flake gets broadcast to refusal. This is the part that makes it yours.

We seal and hand it back

Clear topcoat, then exact times for foot traffic and for parking. No guessing.

Where we work

Sarasota out to a 120-mile radius.

We are based in Sarasota and run the Gulf Coast from Naples up through Tampa Bay, inland to Lakeland and Orlando, and north toward Ocala. That covers twenty-four counties.

Closer jobs get scheduled faster. Further ones we batch, so if you are out toward Lee County or Orange County it is worth calling early in the week.

What it costs

Why nobody honest quotes a floor over the phone

Price follows three things: how big the floor is, what condition the concrete is in, and which system goes on top. Only the first of those is knowable without looking, which is why a firm number quoted sight-unseen is either padded to cover the unknown or about to change once someone shows up.

Condition moves it most. A sound slab that needs grinding and nothing else is straightforward. One carrying cracks, oil staining, a moisture problem or a failed coating that has to come off first is a different job, and that work happens before any resin is opened. We would rather show you where the cost is than hand you a range that means nothing.

System matters too. Grind and seal is the cheapest route to a floor that stops dusting and staining. Flake sits in the middle and is what most garages get. Metallic costs more because it takes longer and cannot be rushed, since the pour has to be worked by hand while it is still open.

What we will not do is quote low, start the job, and find problems. If the slab needs repair before it needs a coating, you hear that at the first visit, even when it makes the job smaller.

Questions

Questions people actually ask

How long does an epoxy or metallic floor take?

A standard two-car garage is usually three days on site: grind and repair, base and broadcast, then the clear topcoat. Metallic work and larger commercial floors run longer because the pour itself takes time. We give you the day count before we start, not after.

When can I walk on it and when can I park on it?

Foot traffic is typically the day after the topcoat. Vehicles need longer, usually four to five days, because hot tires are the real test. Humidity moves those numbers, which is why we give you exact dates for your job rather than a brochure figure.

What is the difference between metallic, flake and grind and seal?

Metallic uses pigments moved through clear resin for depth and movement, so it reads like stone or liquid metal. Flake broadcasts vinyl chips into the base coat for a speckled, hard-wearing surface that hides dirt. Grind and seal polishes and seals the concrete you already have, with no build on top. Different looks, different budgets, same prep underneath.

Will it peel?

It peels when prep is skipped. Coating over a sealed or dirty slab, or over moisture nobody measured, guarantees failure no matter whose product is in the bucket. We diamond grind every floor and check moisture first, which is the whole reason our floors stay down.

Are these floors slippery when wet?

A smooth topcoat is slick wet, so for pool decks, lanais and any wet area we add an aggregate to the final coat. It changes the feel underfoot slightly and it is worth it. For a garage interior most people skip it.

Can you coat cracked, stained or previously coated concrete?

Usually yes. Cracks get chased out and filled, oil spots get degreased and burned off, and old failing coatings get ground off entirely. Concrete that is structurally gone is the one case where we will tell you to fix the slab first.

Do you do custom colors?

Yes. Eighteen flake blends off the shelf, and metallic is mixed per floor, so you can match cabinets, a car, or a room you already love. Bring us a photo and we will get close.

How do I look after it?

Sweep or dust mop, and wash with a mild cleaner when it needs it. No harsh acids and no steel wool. That is genuinely the whole routine.

Do you work outside Sarasota?

We cover twenty-four counties inside a 120-mile radius, from Naples to Ocala and across to Orlando. Look for your city on the service areas page or just call and ask.

Send us the room. We will send back a number.

No showroom visit, no pressure. Tell us roughly how big the space is and what you have in mind, and we will tell you what it costs and how long it takes.
